Letterpress printed and hand bound, created collaboratively by Tiger Food Press and the poet.
A Taxidermy workshop. The end of a relationship. Needle and thread.
A poem that will sit deeply within you and resonate long after reading; evocative of Portland's damp, cold February air, the visceral smell of body and flesh, man and animal.
Allison and I worked on creating this book, off and on, for nearly a year. Our over-full schedules and lives which pull us in many directions prevented us from meeting more than once a month, and in that time, over cups of tea and coffee, and beakers of inexpensive table wine, we made our decisions one by one.
Open Sky measures a little under 5" x 5" when closed. The simple folded structure is pamphlet sewn at the spine, and folds outward to measure approximately 19" when fully open.
Covers are printed in silver ink on black French Paper "Muscletone" from wood type, handset lead type, and photopolymer illustration. The interior pages were printed on two different colors of French Paper. One is a deep, rusty maroon with silver text and the word "OPEN" printed in black. The other is a light, greyish blue, with black text and the word "OPEN" printed in silver.
Please specify which color combination you'd prefer in a convo or message to seller.
