The Helm of Awe or Aegishjalmur was used by the Vikings to protect them in battle. According to Viking tradition, it was supposed to be worn over the forehead or drawn into their helmet.

We have etched the Helm of Awe on to red brass and added a solid brass bead and a sliding adjustable leather cord.

Pendant Size: 1" circle
Leather Cord: 1.5mm
Adjustable from 15" to 29.5"

This necklace is also available without the brass bead for $17.00.

Etching on the reverse is an additional $5.

*********INFO ON ETCHING*********

The color of your etched piece may not be exactly as shown. Your computer monitor may not show the true colors of the finished piece. There are variations to the final colors and beyond my control when I add the patina to them. Your piece may have a pinkish hue, or in shades of dark brown or light brown. Because these are etchings, there also may be little pits and not be totally smooth. I personally, like the variations in each individual item.

All of the etched metal gets a coating of clear sealant. This is used to help delay the natural aging of the metal. It doesn't last forever, but will keep your piece looking nice for a while. With use, your item will become darker, especially if it comes into contact with skin. The oils/salts on your skin will eventually break down the coating. If you want the shine back, you can take a fine piece of steel wool or extra fine sandpaper and sand the top of the etched piece. You can then apply a sealant of your own or clear nail polish.

There are also variations on the leather. Some may not be exactly as shown and may have variations on color or markings on the leather.
