This wonderfully retro vintage metal sculpture, made of brass and copper attached in a gnarled wood base, depicts three long cattail plants and some lilies and leaves. The large round leaves have textured edges and have been colored with heat. There is also a smaller red copper flower with brass fringe in the middle. The base is a lovely knotted wood with felt pads on the bottom. This is a kinetic sculpture--the leaves and cattails move when the table they're on is bumped or a door is slammed--but it's very stable.
This piece of folk art is signed by the artist, Mark '81 (though I think the style is more 1960s).
Size: 18 1/2 inches tall (47 cm); the base is 6 inches wide (15.2 cm); and the width at the largest point is about 11 inches (28 cm).
