A wonderful little treasure for Mother's Day perhaps?
The beauty and delicacy of the collectible hand painted Limoges trinket boxes is unequaled! Some people amass quite the collection, making a fine presentation of these diminutive works of art.
This little box from the late 80’s is no exception. I don’t remember if this box is from the Rochard (probably) or Artoria company, but both houses have the most fabulous Limoges boxes.
This little gem has the most beautiful and delicate flowers in shades of gold, lavender, pinks, and green leaves with touches of gold both on the front, a gold floral sprig on the back, a gold accent on the spout and handle, a gold knob at top and gold outline at the base. The hinged lid also has a sprig of flowers and opens well. The rim and clasp are brass.
The size is approximately 1 ¾” high and from edge of spout to handle is approximately 1 ¾”. Underneath is marked “Limoges France Rehausse Main.” Boxes marked Rehausse Main have been decorated with a combination of transfer painting and hand painting.
This piece is in excellent unblemished condition.
