I haven't discovered too much about "John Henry Potter, Silversmiths" of Rockingham Works, Sheffield, England. Not yet! I do know that the company was in business from the late 1800's and into the early 1900's.
The bone handle is in excellent, although slightly yellowed condition. There is beautiful grain on this piece. The silver collar has a maker's mark of "JHP" - belonging to "John Henry Potter" of Sheffield, England. The Sheffield hallmarks are for 1909. The silver-plate blade is beautifully embossed along one side. As the blade is plated, it cannot be sharpened - which should not be a problem anyways as the serrated edge is meant only for cutting bread. The plating is in excellent condition and the only deterioration is at the maker's stamp where it is 'just' beginning to show through a touch of the brass. (I like brass for a knife blade! It makes for a harder, sturdier blade!)
Full length of the knife is 10". The serrated blade is approximately 5-5/8" long.

Shipping: I use, whenever possible, Canada Post / USPS Small Packet Ground Service. I have found this to be a reliable service. Orders sent to the US take about 5 or 6 business days to be delivered. Orders sent to other countries can take considerably longer. If you need your purchase a little quicker or if you require tracking, please send me a note.
I look forward to hearing from you.
