Lovely vintage woven basket purse from the 1960's-1970's. This purse appears to be made in the style of a John Romain bag, but it was made by Burlington. It is woven of a durable natural straw material and is accented by dark brown leather trim which surrounds the opening, is used for the handles and is also used decoratively along the front panel. The rivets used to attach the leather to the bag are made of a rounded brass tone metal. The bag also has four gold tone metal feet along the bottom. The interior is accessed through a zipper along the top of the bag and opens to reveal a central compartment with a zippered pouch along one side and is reinforced along the bottom and sides with a stiff dark brown synthetic material. This purse appears to have been gently used and aside from some general wear including a slight bit of wear to the interior base material as well as some light discoloration to the woven straw, this woven basket purse is in very good vintage condition!
The purse measures 9" high by 12" wide, tapering to 9.5" wide at the top. The base measures 5" across. The handle drop measures 6".
