I spend days driving and looking for my next subjects. This was painted on the spot driving through the beautiful region of Kamouraska, about 180 km from Quebec city where I spent a beautiful weekend.
The Bas-Saint-Laurent region stretches out along the St. Lawrence River. The unique geographic position of Bas-Saint-Laurent explains the region’s diverse and spectacular landscapes: ocean, plains, islands, mountains and valleys.
12” X 16” original oil painting using a trowel (palette knife) by Shirley Levie
All my paintings are signed originals on canvas and created with archival materials. I use premium grade oil paints and all paintings are made on high quality 100% cotton premier canvas with a tight even stretch for archival stability and durability.
*The sky may seem blue but is actually a beautiful lilac color.
The sides of the canvas (3/4 inch) are painted black so that it can be hung without a frame.
