The word LOVE in Vintage Marquee Letters
Upcycled and in Red Acrylic Paint
Six Inch Tall Letters
Here's why I painted them :
In the 50 and 60s these marquee letters were used outside a theater, movie house. In the early 70s they were sold to a man, a local nurseryman. He decided it would be better for his business if the letters were green, so he hand painted all the marquee letters in a pastel green. A water based paint that held up pretty good against the elements. Oh, that's right, he used house paint, thought it would last !
Fast forward to now, when he retired and closed his nursery and sold me the marquee letters ! Now as pale green they are pretty cool, have used some of them in displays in kitchens.
Look at the Red paint job I did , wow wee ! These marquee letters look like they came to the dance ready to rock and roll.
Fantastic display piece and they look great.
They are hollow to the back and are easy to hang. Look great on a shelf.
