Tussah silk is the kind of silk harvested from empty cocoons after the moth escapes. They do not involve killing little creatures and do not harm them. Cocoons are not moths' homes - they do not return and have no use for them after they escape to live freely. So, no harm done. Cocoons were not cultivated but harvested in the wilds. For me this is very important and I hope for you too.

Color: pink and grey - classic steel rose, or it also reminds me of a rose garden in the park with huge grey stones we love to sit on. If you spin it for plying, the color will be suitable for plying with almost any color of yarn. As always it was dyed with color- and wash-fast professional acid dyes.

Great for spinning and other fiber arts. For wet and nuno felting it is an embellishment in itself.

I spin it thin and 1 oz is usually more than enough for me to ply with regular 100g skein of DK to worsted weight yarn. Also great blending with other fibers for lovely silky luster
