This bracelet was created for the Etsy Beadweavers Team Challenge "Fashion Throughout The Ages" for March 2011. It is inspired by the colorful fashions of the 1960s, especially those by Lilly Pulitzer.
This time of year, as winter drags on and my thoughts turn longingly to spring, I find myself drawn to bright, vivid colors. And there is no greater icon of bright, vivid colors than Lilly Pulitzer, who in the 60's started making brightly colored clothing to disguise all the stains that she got working in her fruit juice stand. Pretty soon those brightly colored clothes were all the rage and continue to this day.
This homage to Lilly is a reversible design, woven in glowing silver-lined spring green on one side, and the same spring green with a deep turquoise stripe on the other. It's simple, elegant, casual, and everything in between - but most of all, it's bright!
It measures approximately 3/4" and is closed with a beaded toggle clasp. It will comfortably fit up to a 6 1/2" (16.5cm) wrist. And it would look great with my 'Sea Sparkle' earrings (last photo)!!
