'Bearded Lady', or for delicacy reasons called 'Lady with Mustache', was 'photographed' after her most successful sideshow performance where she presented the new trick called 'jumping mustache'...
Dark candy illustration... lovely lady in stripped stockings, light as butterfly & very disturbingly beautiful..
Bearded and mustached ladies are the performing stars of the 19Th and early 20Th centuries. They are a phenomenon of legend, curiosity, ridicule, and even a fashion statement.
One of the famous ones was Annie Jones, born in Virginia. She toured with showman P. T. Barnum as a circus attraction.
This is a digital painting... thousands of brush strokes.... days of work. The tiniest thing is invented and painted by me.. as I imagined it. Print has an amazing quality - colors are rich .. detail is perfect. Comes signed, wrapped in cello sleeve and protected with heavy-duty mailer.
