Handmade Hawaiian Puka Shell Necklace 18 inches

Puka shell necklaces became popular in the 60's when college students, stay at home moms, surfers and artists started combing the beaches of Hawaii for the broken shell tops that became knows as "puka" shells. Over the years they have remained popular as they are a real good looking necklace which can be worn to cocktail affairs as well as at the beach. They look stunning against that black cocktail dress or if you are a guy with that casual office shirt.

I have two necklaces for sale and this is the smaller one measuring 18" in length. The shells, though they vary slightly are a little more than a 1/2" in diameter. They are strung on thick monofilament and have barrel type screw in clasps.
