To commemorate the heroism the media rarely if at all covered I was isnpired to burn a US soldier or Marine leaping from a burning/collapsing building holding an Iraqi child in his arms. In short, he was risking his own life to save a foreign one.
The viewer is left to image the background of both subjects. Does the child have parents? Were they killed in the collapsing building? Are they waiting outside and hoping for their child?
Is the solider a father? A son? An Uncle? A Brother? A father and husband? Perhaps he has sons of his own at home. Were other US soldier's killed trying to rescue others from the building?
The viewer is left to imagine all this as he sees it while I present the fact that the Iraqi child was saved. This beautiful and dramatic burning is highly detailed and finished in subtle oil pencils and sealed with several layers of acrylic matte.
It comes ready to hang with a little brass hangar.
I intentionally left space at the bottom of the piece to allow room for a metal trophy plate on which a serviceman's name could be inscribed. I can have your family member's name and other details inscribed on a metal plate at your request for no extra charge. The metal piece will be secured to the wood and sealed in acrylic matte before shipping.
I cannot except returns on this piece. It is title on back "American Son", dated, and the Phoenix Pyrocreations emblem burned on the front.
I am new to Etsy so please ask questions if you have any. Thankyou for looking.
