I've made an adjustable version of the bandolier using velcro.
The bandolier is 2 inches wide and has 6 slots sized to hold a typical range of pencils and pens.
The strap measures just over 20 inches from tip to tip.
This will fit on a book or stack of books measuring from 10 inches all the way around up to 20 inches all the way around. (if your book(s) are larger or smaller than this let me know when you place your order - I can tailor the length to fit your needs)
As every bandolier is a unique handmade item yours may have minor variations from the photograph.
I find many of my materials at a center for creative reuse to improve the carbon footprint things I make.
