This is one of a limited edition of travel journals made from a well loved and aged world map from 1958. Parts of this map are discoloured and stained from years spent travelling around the world. Covers are made from reclaimed bookboard covered with the section of the map featuring the vast northern region of Canada. The endpapers of this journal are vintage atlas index pages. Bound with waxed linen thread using a double needle coptic binding leaving a lovely chain stitch on the spine. This allows the book to lie perfectly flat when open. The inside is filled with 256 pages (counting both sides) of hand torn reclaimed computer paper, leaving a soft deckled edge on the bottom. Tractor feed perforations are still intact on each page.
This journal measures 12.5 x 15 cm (5 x 5 .75”).
If you are interested in a travel journal with a map of another country (such as shown in the last photo) that you don’t see in my shop, please convo me and I can likely do a custom order for you.
