I got thinking about how sea glass is formed. A piece of glass is tossed back and forth in the sea. This process gradually wears the rough edges and makes the glass smooth. The glass can come to rest on the beach. We walk along the beach and find this glass not knowing all it has been through. We just see the result. Life is like this. We will have ups and downs and sometimes do not see a purpose in what is happening. But the rough times in life are the times that build our character and make us who we are. Then when we have times of rest when life is going relatively smoothly, we can be there for others who are being tossed in their sea of life.
This is a one-of-kind ring that is sure to get attention. The ring was made from genuine Maine sea glass found locally. The glass is not worn very much, but it such a beautiful color that I couldn't let it go. It has been soldered with non-lead solder. It has a rustic, bumpy, rough look, but is smooth to the touch. Because of the nature of the process there will be slight irregularities, which are part of the style. The colbalt blue glass measures approximately 10mm x 5mm at the widest parts. The double band is made from sterling silver wire. The ring is size 9 1/2.

It is natural to find imperfections within sea glass which includes chips, cracks, and indentations, but it does not affect the quality of the jewelry. Actually, I think it adds to the character of the piece.
