Smart 80s pink candy-striped shirt dress made in Hong Kong for Rouie. There is not a lot of information available about Rouie, but I do know they made top quality RTW fashions that were sold in high-end stores such as Canada's Saks equivalent, Holt Renfrew. This dress is a great example of their top quality day wear.
Made from a quality cotton shirt fabric woven in alternating stripes of white and pink. Shirt collar with a long white mop button run topped with a metal hook and threaded eye. It is gathered in tiny folds along the yoke front and back. The long one button down cuffed sleeves are gathered at the cuffs in the same fashion as the gathering along the yoke. A wide sash with a metal buckle threads through two threaded loops and there are two generous and convenient patch pockets for the essentials. Finely tailored with all the seams finished. A comfortable, classy day dress for spring or summer!
