When I found this gorgeous pink agate focal in the little bead/antique shop I love to frequent, I wasn't quite sure what I'd do with it. I just knew it was coming home with me. A few days and several trials later, The Setting Sun Necklace (named for Osamu Dazai's Japanese novel of renewal in post-WW2 Japan) was born.
I paired the natural stone with Czech glass and cherry quartz beads, some of which have a lovely iridescence to them, and a bright silver chain. I hand wrapped each bead to the chain, so you know they're not going anywhere. The focal agate pendant has a mottled appearance, with shades of pink ranging from deep raspberry to baby pink, and even a few shots of peachy orange. This is truly a stunning piece--not for the wallflower or faint of heart!
Feminine, but not frilly. Romantic and a little bit edgy.
