Handmade, hand carved custom themed chess set from chess set artist Jim Arnold. The chess board measures 42" wide by 27" across to your opponent. On either side of the playing board there are sand gardens featuring rocks, a bridge, a walking path (for captured pieces), and three 'live' bonsai trees...YES they are alive and need to be watered.

The pieces are hand carved from solid Maple and Walnut and feature the Samurai King, his queen, the elder advisors, the Samurai Headress, pagodas for rooks, and gates for pawns. Kings are about 7" tall...pawns about 3" tall. In the center of the board is the Kenji for Samurai.

Jim Arnold specializes in creating the most unique, fun, and playable custom themed chess sets you will ever find.
