To make this piece, i rolled my clay into a slim sheet,(best quality white earthenware as always), then I gently rolled in a textured wallpaper to give the underlying pattern before cutting the basic shape freehand with a scalpel and carefully rolling up the heart 'curls'. I applied some little textured dots for extra detail and
fired it. Then the glazes were applied and fired again.
This glaze it a crackled turquoise lovely, with dots of yellow on the details. The brooch has a nickle pin on the back and will arrive in a stylish, plain white pillow box.
The brooch measures 1.5 x 1.5" (4x4cm) and is perfect for your lapel or bossom. Equally stylish for casual wear or even to accessorise your favourite bag.
