Thrown earthenware tumbler with majolica glaze and handpainted colorants. This tumbler was thrown on a potter's wheel out of red terra-cotta clay and is covered with a white majolica glaze that was painted while raw. This tumbler measure 5.25" tall and is 3.75" across at the mouth. Tumbler can be used for cold drinks or hot drinks or would be appropriate as a small vase. The foot is untrimmed and is coated with terra sigilatta which gives a slight sheen. The glazed surface is really pleasant to touch--it feels almost silky in the hand. The apple is shown in the photo for size reference.
