Taken from volume 169 of the rare Art Deco folio of French masquerade costumes entitled, “L'Edition Francaise Deluxe, Album de Travestis, La Mode Nationale, Paris”, this print is one of the several whimsical examples of beautiful young women in the collection.
The cohesive theme of these prints is represented by sublime color, a witty blend of sly humor, and wildly creative glamour – the epitome of 1920’s French fashion! As was the custom, each outfit is also sketched in rear profile so that a seamstress could more easily copy it for her mistress or master.
This authentic vintage print is in excellent condition, with minor wrinkling & a couple of old creases. It has been trimmed from its original size. Printed in France on medium weight, semi-smooth paper, its colors are still incredibly vibrant and rich after 90 some years…these prints are referred to as ‘color engravings,’ but I have yet to confirm exact print method.
Measures 9.5” wide [24.13cm] by 13.25” high [33.66cm], and is ready to be framed and hung, or matted and displayed.
I sell only authentic antique & vintage prints and posters – absolutely no reproductions. I have many more Travestis prints to list, most in excellent condition, so please check my Vintage Prints & Posters category often:
