ITEM: Three Blue Pressed Glass Footed Egg Cups
CIRCA: approximately 1930s - 1960s
DETAIL: Translucent--not quite opaque--milk glass. Strikingly similar style to Fire-King Jadeite, but in blue. The shade of blue goes from turquoise to robin's egg to aqua to pastel depending on the light. The white agate swirls swimming within the blue give it a slag glass appearance. The previous owner told me that this is an egg cup. Though that seems logical per its design, it's an EXTREMELY unique one. In fact, I've *never* seen one like it before. The cups each hold 1 small-jumbo sized egg. It could also be used as an open salt or perhaps even a petite condiment server.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 5 3/4" across x 2" tall and each cup is about 2" wide.
OVERALL CONDITION: Excellent condition. Nearly indiscernible wear.
MANUFACTURER: No marks.
