We smoothed all the edges so that it will not catch on your shawl or hair.
The pin measures about 3-3 1/4" (7.6-8.2cm) long and about 1 1/4-1 3/8" (3.2-3.5cm) across the widest part. The stick pin part with the spiral on top that slips through the main design to secure the pin is about 4" (10.2 cm) long.
You can gently bend the outer edges of the main piece to create a looser or tighter fit with the pin.
Although we hammer the metal to give it extra rigidity and strength may not work well for heavy hair.
Don't worry, the hair pin in the picture that is in my hair is NOT the hair pin you will receive.
It can be worn as a brooch too!
You will receive your pin wrapped in tissue paper in a nice gift box .
It is often hard to know if a hair device will work well for your particular type of hair without trying it on first.We wouldn't recommend it for very long or heavy hair. If our sticks don't work well for you after you purchase them just let us know and we can easily work out a refund or exchange.

This design is available in light weight aluminum and copper too.
The pin in the pictures is a representative pin and not the exact same one that you will receive. We hand make each pin and try hard to make them look the same. There may be some minor differences but the one you will receive will look very similar to the one you see in the pictures.
The brass wire used in this pin is in it's natural form and not treated with a lacquer or wax. Brass naturally oxidizes over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny.
