This yarn bowl is wheel thrown in a speckled brown stoneware clay and glazed in a combo of fog and turquoise glazes. This glaze color is impossible to accurately describe but the closest is a grayish green with a bluish-purplish near the rim. The way this glaze breaks on the rim is just a thing of beauty! The photos are very accurate with the colors but your monitor may affect the way the colors appear. It is a very earthy, gorgeous color!
This bowl is 3 1/4 inches tall and about 6 1/4 inches wide. It has a spiral cut to allow you the option of removing the yarn from the bowl before project completion, and two holes to thread through if that is not necessary. Only one hole is really necessary but I like symmetry in my designs!
Each one of my yarn bowls is a little different. Some are taller, some are wider and each spiral design is drawn and carved by hand, making each bowl unique.
Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln.
