>The Original Mason Jar Solar Light Design first introduced to ETSY in May 2010! These handmade Solar Lids twisted onto jars, add wonderful evening lighting for your garden or outdoor area.
I came up with this twist-on lid light design after much experimenting. The idea has been copied since, but I'm proud to say that it's my design, handmade by me, made secure, rain tolerant, designed to be left outside and hold up to outdoor conditions! I've had my jars on my patio table for almost 2 years now, and they are still going strong! No electricity needed, just set outdoors in the sun to charge and watch them glow at night!
The antique hay hook that the lantern hangs from, is re-purposed. It will hang easily on a nail,on a fence, your house, or potting shed. I've added a handmade wire handle to the jar and it hangs nicely on the hay hook. We get strong winds, and hanging it on the fence gives it a nice place to hang securely, without fear of it rocking in the wind. I had one of my Mason Jar lights hanging on a antique metal rake hook, all winter.
It's nice to be able to have the option to take the jar from the hay hook hanger, switch to the flower frog lid, and then add flowers, for in the house, or in your garden.

Answers to some common questions about the Solar Light LIDS:(written by treasureagain)

*The Solar light is automatic. Comes on at night and goes off when sun charge runs out.
*These are rain tolerant. I designed them so they can be left outside. No Glue Involved!
*The solar lids twist onto the jar securely!
*The light brightness & how long it lasts depends on the amount of outdoor sun/charge it gets.
*The LED bulb and solar panel are in the lid. Reflective globe seen in jar, comes with lid.
*When package arrives, lights need to charge outside in full sun before getting the full affect.
*Replacement Rechargeable Ni-Cd Batteries available in hardware stores or online.
*If you experience dim light, the lids need more outside sunlight to charge.
*These lights will NOT charge inside on a window sill.
*I include instructions.
*Clear inner globe is optional, but you'll find this is the part that gives it the extra brightness!
*If you use as a night light indoors, they have to be placed back OUTSIDE to get recharged.
*Place them in an area with no obstructions overhead, to get the best results. If you place them in an area with filtered light (shade,trees,etc..)they will produce less glow at night.
*Remember this EASY TIP.........These are SOLAR lights, and need sunlight to charge. The more light you give them, the longer they will shine.**
