The crane is made with Japanese Washi paper, which has silk strands running through it. It has been treated with 3 layers of varnish for durability and water resistance, and will weather a rainy day beautifully ...just don't take it swimming.
The crane hangs from the multistranded necklace by a sterling silver jewelery pin twisted into a french hook. The multi-stranded necklace attaches by a silver coloured chain and clasp. All findings in the necklace are lead-free and nickel free. If you would prefer, I can replace the multistranded necklace with a silver-plated brass chain at no extra cost.
