vintage early 1970s heavy white cotton pique Mollie Parnis dress with red, lime, pink, light brown and blue, floral print, short sleeve dress, grosgrain bow belt with hook and eye fasteners, grosgrain sleeve and skirt trim, princess seams, and metal back zipper.

✩ Mollie Parnis (1902 or 1905-1992) began as a designer for David Westheim in the late 1920s. In 1933 she and her husband, Leon Livingston, formed Parnis-Livingston, for which she was designer. By the 1940s she was designing under her own name only.
She designed gowns worn by First Ladies from Mamie Eisenhower to Betty Ford. Lady Bird Johnson became a close friend. In one year, one of Miss Parnis' designs was bought by four Kennedy women in four separate cities.
