This wheel thrown lidded casserole has hand built pea pods for handles- how sweet is that!! The top knob is altered into a flower shape, and glazed in Turquoise Waters with a yellow center. The pea pods are a pretty celadon green, and the casserole itself is a lovely Antique White, with a Turquoise interior.
It holds 2 quarts (8 cups) and is 3 1/2" H without the lid, 5 1/4" H with the lid, 9 1/2" D, handles included. If you stack it with the knob of the lid inside, it is 4" H.
Baking and serving in this will always be a joy, as it is thrown light, the lid fits perfectly, and the balance is great. I love to bake, and over my 33 years as a potter, I have refined my casseroles to function divinely!
All of my glazes are formulated for maximum durability, and this piece will be as rich and glossy 100 years from now. I always enclose a studio card that lets you know it is dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. My commitment to environmentally friendly practices is detailed in my Profile, if you are interested.
