Ammonite Fossil is a real fossil 400 million years old. Yes, it sounds unbelievable, but it's true. From what I understand they became extinct when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. This fossil was taken from the ocean rock and then sliced. After it is sliced, it is highly polished and becomes what you see. This piece is called "ram horn" because of its natural ram horn shape -ammonite fossil.
Measures 1 1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide at its widest point. I have encased the fossil by crocheting it into black cotton to gently hold this natural wonder.
In photo # 3 you see the back of the necklace when worn to demonstrate how it will look from the back.
In photo # one 5 would like you to see the scale of this necklace when worn.
The finished product is hung by a 16 inch black leather rope. It closes with an adjustable lobster claw clasp with a 3 inch chain that falls well when worn. I have included a shell charm for added interest when hanging from the nape of the neck.
I have crocheted this beautiful work of art nestled in black cotton thread. The back of the ammonite shell is also encased in crocheted black cotton.
It comes to you in a gift box ready for gift giving. Please see my listing for free gift boxes.
