❀LACE:
I created the brooch entirely by hand using my signature lacemaking techniques and real silver embroidery threads--like those used in the rich textiles of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. I made a delicate net as the base of the crown, and embellished it with dainty lace motifs. A six petalled flower rests in the center, decorated with a vintage rhinestone and tiny A grade ivory freshwater pearls, each one stitched into place by hand. On either side are stylized leaves, and interspersed between the lace are small AA grade pale pink freshwater pearls.
The motifs are bordered by two rows of delicate square cut vintage rhinestones in silver tone settings, alternating with more ivory freshwater pearls. The crown is surmounted by a delicate row of curving arches, decorated with tiny opalescent white vintage seed beads. A small edging of beaded lace on the bottom completes the design.
The brooch is fastened with a 1.25"(3.2cm) sturdy nickel pin, carefully and securely stitched onto the back of the design.

❀THREAD:
My designs feature real metal threads. Not to be confused with the synthetic, metallic fibers on the market, or metal wire, they are composed of a core of thread tightly wrapped in a thin sheet of .90 silver, or 24k gold over a layer of silver-plated white metal alloy. Used for centuries and reaching their zenith of popularity in the textiles of the Renaissance and Rococo eras, metal threads combine the softness of fiber with the sheen and richness of gold and silver.
