Venturing away from my lathe for a bit, I’ve started making some flat items using my scroll saw. I used the saw to cut the basic shape of this fork, then worked through 10 progressively finer grits of sandpaper (finishing with 4000!) to shape and smooth the wood. As usual for my wood items, no dye or stain was added to achieve the straight dark lines in the blond wood. With my shoulder-length fine hair, I use this kind of fork to hold up a quick twist. People with more or longer hair could use it for buns, and quite a few other dos that are beyond the abilities of me and my hair at the moment, I expect!
