Beautiful vintage lidded powder box/trinket box. This powder box was produced by Avon in the late 1950’s and originally held Persian Wood Beauty Dust. This lovely round shaped box has a vibrant painted red glass base. The lid is plastic and has a delightful dimensional molded plastic flower nob in a pale matte gold. The lid also has gold and red design detailing. This box measures 5 3/4 “across and stands 2 ¼” tall (excluding the lid handle). This container is in good vintage condition with no cracks, and no chips in the glass or plastic. There is slight wear to the red paint around the exterior bottom perimeter of the glass. There is wear around the edges of the plastic lid, there are two spots on the red and gold detailed lid near the handle that are discolored (see detail photo). There are two small spots in the gold band on the lid where the gold finish is nicked. Shipping insurance is suggested. Despite the light wear to this piece it is simply shabby chic and elegant! This powder box would be a lovely addition to your vanity and could hold special trinkets and treasures.
