I created this gorgeous and unique wedding head piece as part of the Milliners of Etsy Team bridal Project Runway challenge. The hat is inspired by a phenomenal custom crocheted custom wedding dress created by the talented Dagmar of shaunasworld:

Like her dress, each of the crochet doilies and flowers is hand crocheted. The basic hat form is made from millinery wire hand wrapped in white ribbon. I then stretched nylon horsehair* crin over the hat frame before hand stitching all the crochet trim to the hat. Finally, I trimmed high quality nylon illusion veiling in the peal cotton crochet thread to create the two tier cascade veil. The hat is held on your head with an elastic band that sits at the back of your head.
*back in the day milliners used actual horsehair for this. Nowadays millinery "horsehair" is all made of nylon and thus is not an animal product.
