AMAZING vintage Indigenous Textile/ garment
Here is the color, embroidery and weaving of the Mayan world brought together in a stunning textile accessory that can worn in at least THREE ways and of course, can be thrown on the couch or table as a stunning color accent or sewn into a cushion or purse.
Here it's shown on a model worn over a light dress as a kilt or over-skirt - wrapping the hips in luscious flowers.
Then worn around the shoulders like a caplette or sideways.- tied with a tassel of accent colors. There is metallic thread also woven into the base cloth.
Totally unique and beautiful and one of a kind...
The ladies from this village change out their traditional costume at least twice a year for their Saints Day Festival for different patterns and colors. They are indigenous 'fashionistas' evolving their unique style.......JUST LIKE YOU.
