In general, Ylang Ylang oil is considered to be aphrodisiac, lowers blood pressure and eases stress. You will receive 1 dram of complete, half dram of extra, and one-third dram of grades I, II, and III.
The Extra grade is pulled off during the couple hours of the distillation and is the most intense, floral and sweet. Extra is more aphrodisiac and is sometimes called the poor man's Jasmine. Extra is very intense and sweet and should be properly diluted and used with care. I find that this fraction is most likely to cause headaches and nausea if overused.
Grade I has a sweet and floral fragrance only not as intense as the Extra.
Grade II starts getting less floral and more leathery.
Grade III is even less floral, more leathery and is considered the least therapeutic. Grade III is generally used in soapmaking because it's the least expensive.
Ylang Ylang Complete is made from a complete distillation or by recombining the other 4 fractions. It's a beautiful and well rounded oil and is probably the best all-purpose Ylang.
This kit is a great way to experience this heavenly smelling oil in all it's forms. Ylang Ylang blends well with floral oils, citrus oils, petitgrain and patchouli.
