Illustrated wedding contracts are an ancient tradition in many cultures. Illustrator and designer Eva-Lena Rehnmark melds the ancient art of wedding contracts and illuminated manuscripts to create a personal, visual representation of each couple’s commitment to each other.
Eva-Lena works closely with each couple using personal text provided by the couple and creating custom design elements that represent each couple’s story, message and style. Once a couple has decided on the design of their contract based on loose pencil sketches, Eva-Lena will start to lay in color and text, typically using watercolor, ink, gouache, and gold leaf.
The process of creating a wedding contract is very collaborative. Whether you choose your favorite animal, bird, plant or insects the final result is a very personal piece.
Trained at Rhode Island School of Design, Eva-Lena draws upon her intense school experience and 16 years of professional illustration to create wedding contracts as unique as the couple she is working with.
Please note: this Ketubah has 2 custom elements. More can be added at $50 per element, please convo for details.
