this is one of a series of box frames about what my mother was...
in this one she is a lion tamer, perhaps your mother was also a lion tamer and it rings a bell, perhaps you never knew your mother...but you imagine she could have been this or perhaps you did know your mother, she was a thieving git and to be honest youd rather just invent a new one or borrow mine. thats fine. do that. hey, whatever works right?
anyway,
my mother was a lion tamer
krak! she cracked that whip at those lions, but it was all just theatre and the lions were big softies and on saturday mornings i would lie on them and eat cereal and watch tom and jerry cartoons. there is nothing more comforting and safe than lying on lions while eating cereal and watching cartoons. it is a memory of utter contentment. of course i dont need to tell you, you probably also sprawled on your mothers lions and tigers as a kid.
the picture shows a profile of my mother with her fake moustache, top hat and her trusty handgun( a modified broomhandled mauser).
the box frame is 265 x 265 x 45mm so roughly the size if you were to square off a piece of a4 paper. look, i have put a matchbox in one picture so as to give you the scale. i'm not selling those matches. i need them to burn down the local library, i have an overdue book you see and i need my library record destroyed. the silhouette of my mother is drawn by me and adhered directly to the front glass, the brown paper behind was simply ripped from the page of an old book. if this thing sells im going to knock these bad boys out like there was no tomorra, so dont be thinkin youve got a one-off. plenty of people have mothers who are lion tamers you know, its not just you and me.
if your mums not a lion tamer, look around, my mum did other stuff.
