Measurements...
I do not pin clothing on models, but prefer instead to show you my garments on people they actually fit. I'm more concerned with your actual purchase rather than selling you an unrealistic image. Our model Jennifer's measurements at this photo shoot were 35-27-39
~Bust: 39"
~Waist: 28"
~Hip: Full
~Sleeve length: 4"
~Shoulder to Shoulder: 15"
~Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
~Length from waist to hem: 26.5" + 2" hem
~Skirt sweep: 115"
This dress has very narrow seam allowances and cannot be altered to a larger size.
Condition...
Very good vintage condition with flaws to note. This is a rescue wedding dress that I found at a local antique mall. It has been washed and pressed and will need to be pressed again upon arrival.
~It had no zipper, which I resolved by inserting a period correct metal Talon zipper.
~At the top of the zipper an eyelet bow lined in blue was hand stitched on one side and snapped on the other. The snap had torn a small hole in the dress. I removed the bow and turned it upside down, thereby reversing which side snaps and hand stitching the fixed side of the bow to the hole so it could be mended onto the back of the bow for stability. To ensure to longevity of this dress it is recommended that you have someone unsnap the bow for you when removing by sliding their fingernail between the snaps instead of pulling on the fabric.
~The drawn work on the bodice has many loose threads particularly around the edge of the cap sleeves. It's on account of the fine organdy fraying as well as broken thread in the stitching and it's so minor while wearing and time consuming to repair, that I have left it as is.
The Vintage Bride knows that her dress has flaws but is willing to tolerate a few petty imperfections in order to obtain such fantastic style, materials and craftsmanship for such a small price.
I am always happy to provide brides with additional photos or information in a timely manner. I am also a seamstress in Portland, Oregon and can help local ladies in fitting dresses.
