Inspired by the volcano show right outside the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, I used feathers to add softness to a rather rough natural phenomenon. As you see in the pictures, the colors on the feathers graduate from a bright orange to a greenish black. This is to show the lava flowing down the mountain. I then adden sparkling Swarovski crystal beads in yellow, gold, orange and red colors to create the eruption of the volcano. Ear wires are gold plated.
I stayed in Las Vegas last September for Labor Day Weekend, and as a ritual, I stood in front of the Mirage Hotel off of the Strip and watched the volcano show. The show has gotten more elaborate over the years, and always a spectacular show to watch.
