Kaiser-Wilhelmsland was part of the German New Guinea, South Pacific protectorate of the German Empire. Named in honor of Wilhelm II, who was the German Emperor and King of Prussia, it included the north-eastern part of the present day Papua New Guinea. From 1884 until 1918, the territory was a protectorate of the German Empire. Kaiser-Wilhelmsland, New Pomerania, the Bismarck Archipelago, the northern Solomon Islands, the Carolina Islands, Palau, Nauru, the Mariana Islands and the Marshall Islands comprised German New Guinea.
The size of the print (in inches): 15,2" x 9,6" (49 x 24,5 cm)
The print is in good condition and the paper shows its age with a creamy patina, perfect for framing.
Concerning the age of the paper - cca. 110 years - some spots can be occured on the margin and the reverse side, but these do not effect the quality of the print itself as it can be seen on the scan.
Please note, that by antique prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
