This BoonieBead was created for the Etsy Beadweavers Team April challenge on the theme of Spring Around the Corner - it seems to have grown out of the dirt into a bed of green and the beginnings of a bright spring field of peonies!

I found these beads in a shop while we were on a trip to Gainesville, Florida - more road beads for the collection - then hand stitched, one seed bead at a time with the traditional peyote stitch around an acrylic core bead. It is almost 20 mm in diameter and strung on a brown nylon cord and tied with adjustable knots for wearing long (24”) or short (13”). I left the ends of the ties long, added some glass pony beads and a carved wooden bead, giving it a tribal fetish style. The cord seems to have raveled into great curly roots.
