UNIQUE, EXCLUSIVE. Pyrite power piece, big textured chunks, stunning Y dangle, tassel. The bright shiny pyrite beads ignite with reflected light and traces of its natural drusy formations add a little drusy magic. A one and only distinctive FavoriteBlings signature necklace. A precious, opulent gift.
RARITY, UNCOMMON ELEGANCE. Here is an incomparable design never seen anywhere else. Natural iron pyrite - with its gleaming druzy facets - is a crystal known for its reflective qualities. In fact, pyrite was used as mirrors in ancient Mexico, Mayan and Aztec shamans used pyrite for divination. And pyrite was used as jewelry for thousands of years, particularly by the Incas, Greeks and Romans - and now by FavoriteBlings!
CUTTING EDGE STATEMENT. You get lots of reflected light with all the facets and textures of this stunner. The chunky iron pyrite nuggets create a knockout look and feel. The strand is about 18" long, with graduated pyrite nugget beads that start at about 1/2" wide from the center, embracing the neckline and ending at about 1/4" wide, followed by a row of high-polish brass beads, and finished with a comfortable brass toggle closure. The amazing 3-strand, 3-1/2" long pyrite cube and brass tassel dangle makes even more reflected light dance with every little move you make.
FIERY, DIFFERENT. Pyrite is an iron ore that forms in natural cubic and druzy crystal nuggets. Its unique beauty comes from the clusters of cubical formations with their reflective quality. It's also known as fool's gold because of its brassy shimmers of silver, gold, or gray. Pyrite gets its name from the Greek "pyr", meaning fire, because if pyrite is hit with a hammer it can cause sparks to fly. Though you won't need a hammer to send sparks flying. (Be a smart druzy buyer, see my note below about cheap drusy imitations.)
ARISTOCRATIC NECKLACE. This exclusive FavoriteBlings pyrite necklace has significant presence that demands attention. Matchless bling that's decadent and striking, it is collectible couture for any diva or goddess.

BE A SMART DRUZY BUYER. "Druzy" – or drusy druzes, druzi, druse, drusies – refers to the sparkling appearance of a layer of small crystals formed inside (or outside) a geode, agate, mineral like pyrite, or gemstone. When the crystals are like spilled salt or sugar, the marvelous encrustation is called druzy.
There are 2 types: "Natural" druzy with glittering beige, tan, golden citrine, purple or transparent layer of crystals formed on gemstones. Naturally occuring druzies include agate, carnelian, garnet, chalcedony, amethyst, chrysocolla, malachite, hematite, pyrite, jasper, onyx, rainbow pyrite, rainbow hematite, and uvarovite garnet.
The second type is the enhanced vapor-coated druzy. In the US, authentic druzies are coated by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process which gives them vibrant colors and sparkle, especially titanium druzies. These enhanced natural drusies are coated with pure durable metal deposits such as rose gold, platinum, titanium, silicone and other precious and non-precious metals or elements.
Good quality drusy stones and the process that coats them are expensive but crucial to creating beautiful, sparkling gemstones. But some manufacturers and uninformed sellers are selling cheap imitations, made by taking a jagged item (which may or may not be genuine drusy) and just coating it with colored paint.
Phony druzy is easy to spot. On painted knockoffs, the paint tends to settle in the "grooves" of the drusy. That flattens the surface, so the fabulous crystalline druzy texture is diminished. Most important, imported, low priced painted “druzies” are enhanced with cheap coatings that rub and scratch off quickly. So be aware.
