An embellished hand-formed handle is added and when the clay is dry, it's glazed inside and outs with iron wash and a Shino glaze.
Its then fired to 2300 f in a reduction atmosphere over about 12 hours.
This mug has defect in the clay body that makes it not suitable for food use, so I've thoughtfully drilled a hole in the bottom, transforming it into an awesome flower pot, scrubbie holder, pencil caddy or whatever you fancy, and placed it in this category at a reduced price.
Dishwasher safe and tough enough to live in the garden if you like!
