Spring has arrived with its bright colors and warm breezes, but for those of you who miss the stark aesthetic of snowfall this hat is for you! I captured the sparkle of falling snow using shisha embroidery, an Indian technique of decorating fabric with mirrors. The large snowflake is hand embroidered using satin stitch and I added glass seed beads to increase the sparkle.
The hand blocked wool felt hat has been wired to hold its shape and the inside is lined in grey dupioni silk.
