This non-traditional pysanka was made using a white duck egg. The design is inspired by a pattern used in quilting called the double wedding ring. Believe it or not I started this egg trying to get bright vibrant colors, but you never know what you will get when dealing with duck eggs! I ended up with these soft pastel colors, which I think looks just right for Easter! There is only one tiny hole in the bottom of the egg through which it was blown. Some symbols of this egg are:

Double Wedding Ring Pattern - The interlocking circles are symbolic of marriage or joining together.
Blue ~ Truth and fidelity.

This egg measures approximately 2.5 inches from top to bottom and 1.75 inches from side to side. It has my initials and the year created (2011). It is coated with an archival varnish that adds UV protection, beauty and strength. It comes with an egg stand, symbol card, and in a gift box.
