The chess board is made from solid Walnut and Maple and weighs about 50 pounds! It measures almost 36" square and is trimmed on all four sides with waves and has period '24 pounder' cannon adorning each corner.

The pieces feature the US Naval ship "Constitution" versus the British flagged "Guerierre", it was the first victory at sea for the US. Each ship is nearly 34" long and about 4-6" tall. On board are Captains for the Kings, Lts for queens, Mid-shipmen for bishops, Gunner's mates for knights, and cannon balls for the rooks. Pawns are deck side cannon. All pieces representing authentic period uniforms.
