After making so many small roses, I wondered what it would be like to make a really big one. I took out my chunkiest yarn and a big hook and crocheted this rose that ended up measuring 7" across. When then? I decided to improvise a cowl in the same yarn with a scallop stitch, echoing the curves of the rose petals. I added two pearly buttons and loops for closures, attached the rose and finished with a piece a little bit retro, plenty warm and definitely feminine. The yarn is an acrylic blend so it's soft and hypoallergenic against your neck. The chunky texture gives the cowl its weight and a bold presence. Opened cowl measures 18" x 5".
