A new mixed media work in a series of intuitive drawings I refer to as meditation drawings. We've had quite a few cloudy days this spring, which must influence the very muted color in this piece....blue-gray water soluble crayon creates loose forms that remind me of large rain drops splattering across the page, but within them seed forms blossom....the much needed rain makes the new growth of spring come to life. A moment of sunshine appears in the lower center in the form of a yellow circle with a tiny white bead in the middle. To the left a pearl necklace dangles in mid-air.....enjoy!

The initial drawing in pencil, ink and water soluble crayons on Japanese paper was dipped in beeswax and then backed by another sheet of paper to give support. The two sheets are held together by the five yellow ties at the top and bottom and the bead in the center of the yellow spot. Further subtle detail was added by punching pin-sized holes along the bottom band. The piece measures 10"h x 8"w and will come to you carefully packaged, ready for you to frame or display as you desire. Please remember the beeswax makes the work delicate...should be kept away from direct sources of heat and the hot summer sun!

Thanks so much for browsing MissouriBendStudio...enjoy!
