Linen summer handbag, smocked pleated, wood handle

Pleated linen purse in natural color has dark coffee wood handles. On the front of this purse I used a lattice smocking technique, which was sewn by hand. I added a lining fabric on the back of the front panel to protect the hand sewn stitches. The top of the bag closes with a recessed zipper. The lining and the fabric used around the zipper is 100% cotton in a small floral and branch pattern of taupe, beige, tan, and mocha.

Inside the purse there are two small pockets and a layer of interfacing to help the bag keep it's shape. There is a 2 1/4" wide side gusset to give the bag more room. Notice the zipper hangs over the edge slightly with a pull tab attached to hold on to while zipping. This also lets the purse open a bit more for easy access.

I take great pride in my work. I only use high quality materials and I implement meticulous craftsmanship.

Measures: 10 1/4" wide x 8 1/4" deep with a 2 1/4" side gusset. The wood handles are 5 3/4" wide from outside to outside and rise 3 3/4" above the top of the purse.

Care: Spot clean only. Warm iron if needed.
